Your Support Provided a “Family” for a Graduate

“I don’t have any family to attend my big day. Will you come to my high school graduation?” Stephanie, one of our detention center girls, asked our team this question.

With her sister in jail and no other family, we gladly said yes!

Stephanie put on her black cap and gown and walked down the aisle of the cafeteria to Pomp and Circumstance in front of YRTC staff with tears running down her face.

She probably never thought she would graduate from high school. But that day she received her diploma from the principal with a big smile on her face.

Stephanie’s invitation to our team shows how important it is to build authentic, Christ-sharing relationships with each student we meet.  Just like God adopts us as sons and daughters, we consider each student part of our family.

And because of your support of this mission, you are her family, too! When Becky and Pam attended her graduation, you were right there as well.

Thank YOU for giving Stephanie a “family” to celebrate her day and to tell her about Jesus! Your support gave Stephanie a reason to smile and hope for the days to come.
